When Carrie Bradshaw married Mr.Big in her blue Manolo Blahniks, it was a visionary fashion statement, empowering the bravest of brides to “step” out of the ordinary and leave their dyeable satin pumps in the dust. Four years later, blue wedding shoes have become as common as a Kardashian spin-off on E. This doesn’t faze true fashionistas, who are looking for new ways to express their style and originality. One of my new faves? Skyscraper platform pumps, like these babies from B Brian Atwood. With a modern, architectural edge, they’re arguably just as fierce as the bride who’s wearing them.

Happy Shoesday Tuesday! May the force “B” with you!

I have a confession: I don’t watch 90210. I know it sounds surprising coming from, well, me, but for some reason I just never got into it. In fact, the only time I ever had the slightest bit of interest in the show was this past week, when I heard one of the characters was getting married. Naomi Clark, to be exact, who is supposedly a West Coast version of Blair Waldorf or something. In any case, as soon as I saw this feathered creation she slipped on in the bridal salon, I was floored.

In fact, it almost made up for The CW sticking Blair in that horrible lace dress which all but completely ruined the Gossip Girl wedding (and one severely obnoxious prince I’m still waiting for the producers to kill off in a car crash or something).

According to TV Guide, the breathtaking Tadashi Shoji number — consisting of crystals and raw silk chiffon flowers — is actually two dresses sewn together (for added length). Fortunately for us, the same dress appeared this weekend on mega-blog Style Me Pretty, which affords us a far better view than The CW, even if it lacks Naomi’s custom alterations.

I’m not sure if this exquisite piece of couture was originally priced in the thousands (it certainly looks like it) but I’ve just tracked down the SAME EXACT dress for $810 at Lord & Taylor.

According to the website description, the dress features “one-shoulder styling that beautifully accents the pleated bodice and skirt and a tonal waistband” and is “finished with a chiffon ruffled detail on the skirt.”

Are we all in agreement this is one of the dreamiest wedding dresses like…ever? And for just over eight hundred bucks? I’m certainly sold. At that price you could buy two and literally get the same dress as Naomi Clark, with her custom train in all its frothy glory.

It’s not secret that I absolutely adore Jenny Packham. Unsurprisingly, the British designer’s jewels are just as jaw-dropping as her sparkly dresses, as evident by the Jenny Packham SS2012 Bridal Accessories Campaign:
