Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all been enjoying this obscenely hot summer. I just wanted to check in with a brief update to let you know what’s doing around Wedding Style File.

Unfortunately, there have been some technical glitches on the back end which will hopefully be resolved soon. In the mean time, I’ve created a Tumblr page, so you can still get your fix of insanely gorgeous eye candy. Weddings, fashion, design, everything that makes you want to bust out your spirit fingers and do a major happy dance for all the loveliness that exists in the world.

Hop, skip and jump in your sparkly Loub stilettos over to curatedbyrachel.tumblr.com.

The last bit of news is Wedding Style File will be stepping out of the ballroom and featuring nuptial celebrations in a broader range of settings. Art galleries. Roof tops. Restaurants. Don’t worry, it will all still be insanely glamourous. No mason jars around this popsicle stand.

Also look out for more local vendors with a new and improved Wedding Style File directory, coming soon!

That’s right lovelies, there’s a major re-vamp in progress. Be sure to follow @RachelCravit on Twitter so you can get up-to-the-second updates on everything Wedding Style File.

Happy Friday!

I’m happy to be back on The East Coast Bride this week with a prep-tastic East Coast wedding shopping guide for all of you heading to Hyannisport for the Big Day (or bringing Hyannisport to you). It is always such an honour to collaborate with the incredibly talented Keri and Krista, the duo behind one mighty stylish wedding blog which you should all check out immediately.

When I was a little girl, my grandmother bought me a ruffly party dress on one of her trips to Mexico. It was red, white and glorious. Naturally, I became completely obsessed with it. I wore it everywhere, even inappropriate places, like the beach or the grocery store. Eventually, the poor thing whittled down to a thread. It’s still recovering in the back of my closet somewhere.

Needless to say, when I grew up and became a wedding blogger, I developed a serious crush on ruffly bridal gowns, and their ruler, Oscar de la Renta.

One of the things I love most about running Wedding Style File is the opportunity to connect with some extremely creative, talented and inspiring people who are making things happen in the wedding industry. The East Coast Bride is no exception; otherwise known as Keri and Krista, these brides turned bloggers are the brains behind one insanely gorgeous blog chock full of ideas and inspiration for East Coast weddings. You may recognize them from their recent appearance on Style Me Pretty, which, as any wedding blogger can tell you, is major. Naturally, I am thrilled to be joining them as a guest blogger. Head on over to check out Wedding Style File: East Coast Edition. The East Coast Bride is such a treat, I promise you’ll be glad you stopped by!

I have a confession: I don’t watch 90210. I know it sounds surprising coming from, well, me, but for some reason I just never got into it. In fact, the only time I ever had the slightest bit of interest in the show was this past week, when I heard one of the characters was getting married. Naomi Clark, to be exact, who is supposedly a West Coast version of Blair Waldorf or something. In any case, as soon as I saw this feathered creation she slipped on in the bridal salon, I was floored.

In fact, it almost made up for The CW sticking Blair in that horrible lace dress which all but completely ruined the Gossip Girl wedding (and one severely obnoxious prince I’m still waiting for the producers to kill off in a car crash or something).

According to TV Guide, the breathtaking Tadashi Shoji number — consisting of crystals and raw silk chiffon flowers — is actually two dresses sewn together (for added length). Fortunately for us, the same dress appeared this weekend on mega-blog Style Me Pretty, which affords us a far better view than The CW, even if it lacks Naomi’s custom alterations.

I’m not sure if this exquisite piece of couture was originally priced in the thousands (it certainly looks like it) but I’ve just tracked down the SAME EXACT dress for $810 at Lord & Taylor.

According to the website description, the dress features “one-shoulder styling that beautifully accents the pleated bodice and skirt and a tonal waistband” and is “finished with a chiffon ruffled detail on the skirt.”

Are we all in agreement this is one of the dreamiest wedding dresses like…ever? And for just over eight hundred bucks? I’m certainly sold. At that price you could buy two and literally get the same dress as Naomi Clark, with her custom train in all its frothy glory.
